Christ in Isaiah

And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.” Luke 24:27.

This page is about seeing the Lord Jesus Christ in the book of Isaiah. When He was on earth, the Lord quoted this wonderful book and from the above verse, He explained the things concerning Himself. It is with this that I seek to draw on some of the wonderful features and characteristics of Christ in the book of Isaiah.

There are several sections in Isaiah that present wonderful characteristics of Christ. The idea of outlining or presenting these is for the reader to appreciate Christ more and more and to enjoy a more thorough study of the whole Bible, and not just Isaiah.

To simplify this further, all the titles or subjects that we will look at commence with the letter ‘s’ in English. I apologise in advance if this is not the same as the language you speak or are more familiar with.

The sections that will be drawn and focussed on are as follows:

  1. The Sovereign and the Sent one – Isaiah 6; John 12:39-41; Isaiah 48:16
  2. The Sign and the Son – Isaiah 7:1-17; Matthew 1:18-23
